Island Infrastructure
The Island’s roads, signage, litter bins, electricity and water supply, and street lighting are the responsibility of the municipality, and are in good condition and well-maintained.
Sewerage is by conservancy or septic tanks, serviced by the Municipality. A fibre-optic network provides connectivity to all properties. Residential refuse is removed weekly.
The seawall that protects the Island was built from sandstone sourced from a nearby quarry. Although ninety years old, the seawalls are sound and effective, but require periodic maintenance and repair. LIRA holds the environmental authorizations necessary to undertake any work required.
